NKMK brings together various aspects of work in disaster medicine and in 2026 it will be organized by the Centre for Disaster Medicine at Umeå University. The conference offers unique opportunities for researchers, crisis coordinators and representatives from regions, hospitals, politics and decision-making, civil society organizations and authorities, etc., to meet around current issues, learn about the latest research in the field, share experiences, and create collaborations. The focus is, as usual, on finding new ways to strengthen disaster medical preparedness. Lectures by both international and national researchers as well as other actors and panel discussions will be on the program.
The conference will be held on the University Campus, which is built around a beautiful park near the city center. There will be plenty of time for personal meetings, networking, and having fun together.
